With the 1st card....it is only 5x on select categories..."Earn 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year." Also I guess that would mean the $1250 is after the anniversary year not when you hit $25000?
You can earn 5X bonus points on up to $25,000 category spend per anniversary year.
Example:
1. Open up Chase Ink Cash in March 2022
2. MS office supply stores on Fluz and hit $25,000 spend by July 2022 (yes very possible)
3. You earn $1,250 or 125K UR points (which can be redeemed for $1,700 if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve and use the PayYourselfBack feature.)
4. You earn these points when the statement closes, so if you finished your 5X $25,000 spend in July 2022 in this example, you would have 125K UR points or $1,250 total by end of your July 2022 statement. (Let's say you spend $10K on office supplies in March, $10K in June, and $5K in July... You would earn 50K points at March statement close, another 50K points at June statement close, and 25K points at July Statement close for 125K UR points in total.
5. From here you would receive 1X points on the previous 5x categories until your anniversary calendar resets in March 2023.
Please let me know if you have any questions on the above, hope this clears things up!
What retailers would qualify as office supplies? Would Best Buy qualify? I'm thinking you could buy some high ticket items there and then have it send to BFMR
Welcome Ser! Read the two below links. Please DM me on Twitter, if you are not in the Slack group yet.
Fluz has specific gift cards that can be used to pay Citi. Right now, you can buy MCGC cards for $200 (via checkout w PayPal) and it'll count as 5X on Chase InkCash.
Referral links/codes for recommended cards? Do you have a strategy for MS to hit 4X on grocery with Amex Gold or 10x restaurant with Platinum that will be covered?
DM me on Twitter if interested in Chase Ink Cash referral. I'm not referring any Amex right now. May set up affiliate site down the road, but mostly focused on getting all paid subscribers to $10K+.
Check out tonight's post. That will cover the Amex MS.
Looks like the Double Cash doesn't offer a Welcome Bonus anymore. Should I swap it for the Custom Cash/Rewards+ or just move on to the next card?
